The Canadian School of Warsaw does its best for all of its students to become self-motivated, self-directed problem-solvers and decision-makers. We encourage them to develop the skills necessary for learning and developing a sense of self-worth and confidence in their ability to participate in a changing society. Therefore, we have chosen Primary Years Programme (http://www.ibo.org/), which develops positive attitudes and joy from learning and acquiring new skills and what is most important encourages children to ask questions and seek satisfying answers. We teach children respect, tolerance and understanding toward individuals, groups and cultures in all communities. One of the most characteristic features of the programme is division of the school year into six transdisciplinary themes:

• Who we are

• Where we are in place and time

• How we express ourselves

• How the world works

• How we organize ourselves

• Sharing the planet

These themes constitute a framework for disciplinary and transdisciplinary teaching and learning for children 3-10, create a base for acquiring concepts, skills, attitudes and creative action for the benefit of oneself and others.

These six themes help our teacher develop a programme based on Units of Inquiry (UOI), which teach the children how to acquire and interpret information independently , solve problems and make decisions. These skills will be necessary for our students outside the school walls in the ever changing society of the XXI century Since our programme of inquiry joins the content of Polish and Canadian curriculums our students learn in English with the addition of Polish and French. Canadian School of Warsaw offers an intimate setting for optimal learning. Our school’s goal is to achieve the highest learning standards, which will allow for unlimited intellectual development of our students .
