Halloween 2008

Dear Parents,

Halloween is around the corner!

This year the Halloween celebration will take place on Friday, October 31st. Traditionally, we are going to have a parade and a lot of sweets

We also celebrate the Polish All Saint’s Day by having lessons and discussions on that subject.

As for the Halloween celebration, please make sure children wear scary or funny (or both) costumes.

As we have asked before, please provide the school with ca. 250 g of sweets (not the hard kind, please) as soon as possible. Teachers will collect the candies. Children will use them for trick-or-treating. We plan to visit two or three local businesses with our Halloween parade.

Please make sure children bring old paper gift bags or old pillow cases (no plastic bags, please; signed!) for trick-or-treating purposes.

Please provide Kindergarten children with an extra set of clothes in case of accidents. All children should have a snack that they can share with others.

Below please find the schedule of our special day:

9.00-10.00 – Costume presentation,
10.00 – Snack time,
10.30-12.30 – Haunted House in the school gym,
11.30 – Lunch for Smilies and Sweet Apples,

12.30 – Lunch for Grade 3, 4 and 5,
12.15-1.00 – Smilies and Sweet Apples go to local stores and houses for trick-or-treating,
12.45-1.30 – Grade 1 and 2 go on the trick-or-treating parade,

2.00-2.45 – Costume contest,

The school is open till 3 o’clock and there are no extra activities on Halloween Day, as each year, as children are always very tired after this active day.

Best regards,
