Welcome to November!

This month I would like to bring the following points to your attention:

EVENTS

• Independence Day was celebrated on November 10. Each class has prepared a short presentation and we gathered together at 11.00 o’clock to share the knowledge of this historical event - sing songs and perform poems. Students from Olimpijska have prepared a detailed educational program for this occasion.

• Our school will take part in the annual “Charity Bazaar”organized by SHOM (Spouses of Heads of Mission) group of the embassies in Warsaw which will be held on November 20, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in Marriott Hotel. Teachers will prepare Kid’s corner with a great variety of Christmas activities, and our student will sing carols.

We would like to invite you and your family to take part in the Charity Bazaar- a great event organized by charitable cause with good food and lots of fun.

• IBO Authorization Visitwill take place on November 22 and 23.

Two representatives will spend two days in our school, visiting classrooms, talking to teachers, leadership members and parents.

• Thanksgiving will be celebrated on November 24.

Thanksgiving has been celebrated at The Canadian School since we began and is a firm favorite amongst children, owing to the fact that it neatly combines good food with dressing up: basically a strong sense of occasion.

As each year, we have a kind request directed to Parents to provide (non-obligatory) the school with your national dishes to be shared amongst children during the Thanksgiving lunch. They can also be pumpkin pies, turkey, corncobs or whatever you feel like preparing.

Teachers are currently preparing Thanksgiving Day attractions.

Detailed plan will be sent to you.

ORGANIZATIONAL ISSUES

• We would like to remind you that according to our school calendar, the following Wednesday, 16th November, the school (on Bełska7 street only) will hold a PYP training session for all staff members. Therefore, Parents are kindly requested to collect their children by 3 p.m. There will be no extra activities that day.

Students at Olimpijska Street will have lessons according to their regular schedule.

Best regards,

Emilia Fronc, principal
