Once again I would like to extend my warm welcome to all the Parents in the new school year 20010/11.
As it happens with all new changes we will take under consideration your comments and remarks concerning the new agreements. School would like to annul previous years’ agreements and Parents should sign the new agreements along with the appendix, both of which should be ready by Wednesday 08.09.2010. Thank you for your kind cooperation.
- Parents Teachers Conferences
To continue our effective communication and keep you up to date we have planned for regular parent-teacher meetings.
We will continue to organize parents teachers conference at the beginning of the school year and at the end of each semester. Additionally, teachers will be available to talk to you during monthly individual meetings, specific schedule for which will be placed on each class’ information board.
Below, please find the schedule for the first PTCs.
Grade 1a and Grade 1b - orientation meetings took place on August 26th
Grade 2a and 2b – September 14that 5 o’clock
Grade 3 - September 14th at 4 o’clock
Grade 4 - September 15th at 4.30
Grade 5 - September 15th at 5 o’ clock
- Child collection rules
This year the school is open from 8.00 o’clock in the morning. Parents (not children) are obligated to sign the child in and out at the desk by the main entrance. You are also asked to use the back entrance leading to cloak rooms where children can change and go straight to their classrooms. Please, use the same route to leave the building. Only class 1a can use the main entrance to go to the cloak room since the changing area for this class is located next to the nurse room.
Between 3.00 and 4.00 o’clock children are usually outside. To collect your child, please ask the security guard or check on the board where the children are. Between 4.00 and 5.00 children might be on their floors and from 5.00 to 6.00 in grade 3 classroom under our common room teacher’s supervision (lunch room level).
- Extra Activities
Starting September 6th the school will post the lists of extra activities offered by the school for 2010/2011. The list will be displayed by the main entrance.
The extra activities that will be continued: Tennis, swimming, dance, karate, art studio, Italian, Spanish, piano lessons, guitar lessons, ceramics, Bob the builder, Drama classes, school choir and emotional intelligence Introducing for the first time: Capoeira (trial lessons for grades 1-3 at 16.30 and grades 4-5 at 17.00 on 7th September), Ballet , Psychology for children
Extra activities fees will be prepared by 10th September.
IBO information and orientation meetings
With the beginning of next week we will officially issue monthly PYP Coordinator Newsletter to keep you up to date with the latest programme and planning info. Parents who are new to the PYP are kindly invited to join our orientation meeting on 6th October at 16.30.
School uniforms.
School uniform samples will be ready on September 9th and available to you in the secretary’s office.
School calendar
Our school calendar including dates of events, breaks and school celebrations will be posted on our website September, 3rd.
- School library policy
Since we have introduced the Reading Tree Programme children will be able to borrow the books through their main teachers who are the only ones authorized to access the library.
- Payments for new books
We would like to thank the parents for their almost immediate book payments and remind the new parents to pay for the books on moment of settling the first invoice by September 5th. You will be issued and invoice for the Polish curriculum books.
- Schedules and timetables.
All grades timetables will be posted on our website (login – class, password - joy678) and are currently displayed on all the information boards outside the classroom.
- ESL
The schedule for ESL classes will be made available to you by the end of next week when main teachers will decide on the children who require extra assistance.
11. Other classes
Regular PE swimming lessons start from Monday SEPTEMBER 6 (Grade 3, 4 and 5). Please provide children with necessary swimming equipment (swimsuit, swimming cap, shoes, towel).
Extra activities at the swimming pool start in OCTOBER.
On Monday (06.09.2010) teachers will display lists for students who will be attending Religion classes, which will begin on the 13th of September (following Monday).
