Dear 2A parents,
My name is Helen Absalom and I will be working as the main teacher in Grade 2A for the academic year 2011-2012.
I am originally from Wales in the UK and my first language is English. I hold a BA (hons) in Modern Languages and Politics from the University of Sheffield, a Post Graduate in Education from the University of London, and a Masters in Education from the University of Exeter. I am a specialist in primary school teaching and second language acquisition. I am a trained PYP teacher and have been working in PYP schools for four years. Previously to the Canadian School of Warsaw, I worked at the International ‘Violenschool’ in Hilversum, The Netherlands.
I have 19 years teaching experience working with young learners in various academic contexts and countries. I am also a teacher trainer and run professional development workshops.
I am very happy to be embarking on my second year at the Canadian School of Warsaw and to be guiding your children’s class through grade two of primary.
